This walking tour is the créme de la creme of Copenhagen’s most iconic sights and cultural insights.
Your local guide is a bona fide Copenhagener who is super excited to share their knowledge of Danish culture with you, as well as local historical secrets that you won’t find in any guidebooks! And because our tours are for small groups only, your guide has plenty of time to answer any questions you may have.
Your tour takes you through the oldest parts of the city, where you experience hidden gems in the form of cobblestone-filled streets, timber-framed houses, and green refuges of calm amongst the urban sprawl.
As we wander through the city’s charming streets and hidden corners, you’ll discover a mix of iconic landmarks and lesser-known stories that bring Copenhagen’s past to life. From tales of royal intrigue and power-hungry kings to the unexpected scandals behind the palace walls, history comes alive through the eyes of a local. You’ll get the inside scoop on the Royal Guards at Amalienborg, with anecdotes only those who’ve actually served would know, and explore the impressive surroundings of both Rosenborg and Christiansborg palaces — the latter now home to the Danish Parliament.
Our route also takes us through green spaces and past the star-shaped Citadel, offering scenic views and stories from Copenhagen’s military chapters, all told with a healthy dose of humor and insight. Of course, we won’t miss the Little Mermaid — and you’ll find out why this iconic statue isn’t quite as innocent as she seems.
Throughout the experience, your guide is there not just to share knowledge, but to connect, inspire, and answer all your curious questions. Expect plenty of chances to snap stunning photos (your guide is happy to help!) and to chat about modern Danish life — including why trust and togetherness are at the heart of what makes Denmark one of the world’s happiest countries.

This is a child-friendly tour. Children between the ages of six and 11 inclusively are permitted on this tour at the rate listed above. Please select ‘child’ above when booking. Children under the age of six are permitted to join this tour free of charge. Please inform us at the time of booking if you’ll be bringing a child under the age of six. You can do so in the special request box on the checkout page.
