Many ill tongues often say it’s practically impossible to get to know a Copenhagener as an outsider except if you’re out having a good time with a drink in your hand. So on this tour, you will be introduced to a good time with the locals and like-minded travelers, as well as get to experience some of the best drinks and places in town.
You will kick off the tour at Kongens Nytorv, in front of the Royal Theatre. Here we will have a view over an iconic statue, which plays a huge role for graduating students every year! It’s really the perfect place to get acquainted with each other and your local expert guide will also tell you a thing or two about why Danes can be so difficult to get to know.
Afterward, you will take a small hidden street to the picturesque Nyhavn. Here you’ll enter at a space where your local expert guide will be able to let you in on all the secrets of how to snap some of the most breathtaking images you can take at the most photographed place in Denmark.
This will conveniently lead us to a small wine bar with a huge reputation. Here you’ll hear how this wine bar is completely organic and how they cater to one of the world’s best restaurants, NOMA, before you’re introduced to two orange and completely organic wines that you, of course, will taste.
With an appetite for more, you’ll head further down the waterfront with its stunning views. Here your local expert guide will point out some hidden trampolines that you’re of course free to bounce up and down on if you feel like it while letting you in on tales about how important community is to Danes and how we safeguard it through rituals and traditions both old and new.
On that note, we’re at a secret tucked-away gem hidden in plain sight. Here we will climb its stairs and gaze upon what we believe is the best view in Copenhagen! From here you can admire how Copenhagen has become a vibrant city showcasing the old and new side-by-side at twilight while you sip on the preferred nectar of Danes – an organic Danish craft beer and bond with your group and the locals alike.
On the ground again, you will head through the beautiful castle garden of Christiansborg Palace and hear a demonstration on how Danish people like to brag before heading through some of the oldest and most charming streets of Copenhagen. Here you will be soaking up the charming evening ambiance before entering your last stop – an innovative trendy bar, located in a timber-framed building that is exactly what you make it. In here, you will sip on a fresh iced cocktail with actual ice cream made by some of the best mixologists in town, while you will be able to ask the bartenders anything and experience the informal atmosphere Copenhagen is so known for.
You’re free to stay after this drink and we definitely recommend it, but the tour ends on this note. Before you leave though, please don’t forget to ask your local guide for more tips on what else to experience and do during your stay in Copenhagen.

This tour is exactly what you look for in an experience and has undoubtedly been the best one that I have been on. It checks all the boxes, from discovering unique locations to gaining a local perspective of the city. If you are staying in Copenhagen this tour should be something that you make time to do!
Mr. Amiel G. from the United States of America traveled on 27 Sep. 2019:
We had a great evening! Delicious drinks, interesting stories, and cool places we would have never found on our own. Thanks for showing us around!
Ms. Rachelle T. from Canada traveled on 9 Sep. 2019:
I loved this tour! I signed up before a friend decided to join me on my trip to Copenhagen, so I ended up adding her to it. Jam was a fantastic host/guide and we experienced a part of the city that we would never have even realized was there. The group we were part of got along really well and some of us ended up going for drinks after as well. I am so happy to have gone on this tour, I would 100% do it again. Thank you!!
Mrs. Skye H. from the United Kingdom traveled on 29 Oct. 2019:
Loved our evening with Sandra! Fantastic conversation and she showed us some hyggelig places that we never would have found on our own. It was just my husband and I with Sandra and we had a great time!
Ms. Santi H. from the United States of America traveled on 26 Oct. 2019:
It was so much fun. Jam made it feel like we were just a bunch of people hanging out, it was so chill and friendly. I tried places I definitely wouldn’t have done on my own.
Ms. Clara J. from the France traveled on 24 Oct. 2019:
The tour was wonderful. I met some great solo travelers like myself and really enjoyed talking and getting to know them. The places we visited were not places I think I could have found on my own. Definitely worth it!
Ms. Susan R. from United States of America traveled on 22 Oct. 2019:
Fantastic tour. Loved everything about it. I’m traveling by myself and really enjoyed the opportunity to get out and meet people and feel really connected to the city.
Ms. Joi W. from the United Kingdom traveled on 21 Oct. 2019:
Jam is fantastic: he’s friendly and warm and funny and knowledgeable. The locations, drinks, and snacks were top notch, and we received special treatment from the owner at Balderdash, including a tour. I would do this tour again without hesitation, even if the locations were the same.
Ms. Chung L. from United States of America traveled on 18 Oct. 2019:
Really fun way to spend an evening in Copenhagen, especially if you enjoy drinks. I loved learning new tidbits about the city and chatting it up with folks.
Ms. Merran S. from United States of America traveled on 16 Oct. 2019:
I loved this tour, it captured everything I love about Denmark which is not just the monuments or the beautiful history of Copenhagen, but the happiness of sharing an evening with new friends, the quirky cool parts of the city you won’t find yourself, and really feeling local (and hygge) for a few hours. Jam our guide is amazing, such a talented guy. You should book this tour.
Mr. Eric G. from Canada traveled on 11 Oct. 2019:
We wish we would have done this the first night in town! You’ll get to see great hidden gems of the city and meet some really cool people along the way. This was our favorite Copenhagen experience easily!
Mrs. Louise J. from the United Kingdom traveled on 7 Oct. 2019:
Book it now ! If, like me, you are not much of a ‘joining in’ sort of person, then the idea of a walking & drinking tour with strangers, may not seem like the best idea. BUT. It was really great fun – my friend and I were on the tour along with the other members of the group who were a mix of single travellers & couples of varying ages. Everyone got to know each other over the course of the tour which was a side benefit! The tour itself was very well planned and we were taken to 3 great and very different bars, where we learnt about the venue, the drinks, the owners and culture. Truly a lovely afternoon that will remain one, of the highlights of our trip,a nd a very happy memory. A big heartfeltThank you to Jamshed and his friends.
Mr. Ash K. from Australia traveled on 3 Oct. 2019:
This is a great food and drink tour of copenhagen but its a little something special because of the laid back nature of the guide. you feel like you are among friends and truly understand the danish culture of hygge!
Mrs. Maggie P. from United States of America traveled on 1 Oct. 2019:
What an incredible experience! I wish I had done it on my first day so I could have hung out with the people I met longer. We all really connected and ended up going out later that evening and having a blast! Definitely this is not to be missed!
Ms. Josie B. from United States of America traveled on 28 Sep. 2019:
Great tour of some hidden gems of Copenhagen! Small group size means everyone got to know each other and have plenty of interaction. Would highly recommend this as a great way to spend an afternoon/evening in Copenhagen!
Ms. Stephanie J. from Canada traveled on 22 Sep. 2019:
I had the best time on this tour. JM was amazing. His knowledge about Copenhagen was quite diverse. Which made for a great informative evening. Everywhere we stopped felt unique. And had a sense of culture. Plus the other members of the tour were fun.
Mr. Michael H. from Germany traveled on 18 Sep. 2019:
What a wonderful experience. Great Great time with great people and a great host. Have i used the word great too much??? Seriously though you will not be able to experience anything like this alone and if you did, it wouldn’t be half as fun. Highly recommended!!!!!! One last thing… the host was wonderful. She was very sweet and knowledgeable and a well rounded individual. She made things soo much more fun.
Ms. Jen W. from United States of America traveled on 14 Sep. 2019:
Great experience! The bars were super cool and unique, got to see lots of different styles and I would never have known to try them on my own. Jam was a fantastic guide with great stories and provided so many insights into Danish culture. Highly recommend if you’re travelling solo in Copenhagen!
Ms. Heather K. from the United Kingdom traveled on 11 Sep. 2019:
This was really fun! I highly recommend it. I am traveling by myself so it was really nice to have an informative and social event to go to. We went to three really different places, I liked the variety and thoughtfulness behind the choices. Jamshed was a great guide, super open and willing to chat with us about all things Danish. Just a heads up the snacks were good but minimal (some delicious cheese and bread at the first place) so they really mean it when the description says don’t come on an empty stomach! All in all a great time.
Mr. Sean O. from The United States of America traveled on 5 Sep. 2019:
Jamshed was an exceptional host. He is such an engaging, interesting, and charismatic person that spending the evening with him was a privilege. He gave great insight into Danish culture and provided constantly interesting conversation, always making sure to include each guest. It’s nice that the groups are kept small and everyone in my group got along very well. The three stops were all unique, varied, and high quality. It was a highlight of my time in Copenhagen.
Mr. Geoffrey H. from Saudi Arabia traveled on 28 Aug. 2019:
Absolutly amazing. These guys are genuine good people who know there way around the city. These tours made our trip to Denmark a truly once in a lifetime experience.
Ms. Sarah P. from Canada traveled on 15 Aug. 2019:
Jam did an exceptional job with this tour. He showed our group some unique spots that we would not have been able to find on our own. The end result was learning a little more about the Copenhagen drink/food scene and having a good collective experience with some great memories. Thanks Jam!
Mr. James S. from Australia traveled on 3 Aug. 2019:
This experience with Mie was really hygge! She took us to some great spots that locals go to (not touristy places!) and we immediate felt part of the local culture. Mie was really engaging and taught us about culture, history, and hygge along the way. Highly recommend!
Ms. Jenny F. from The United States of America traveled on 21 Jul. 2019:
Mie is super lovely and so easy to get on with. Great sense of humour. I learnt a load of interesting stuff about Copenhagen and Danish life, and visited some bars I would never have found on my own. I travelled on my own so it’s nice to meet people and chat – totally recommend doing this if you come to Copenhagen!
Mr. Charles K. from The United Kingdom traveled on 11 Jul. 2019:
This was a wonderful experience which was not the standard overview of the normal touristy spots. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the city and took us to a few bars and locations that we would otherwise not have stumbled upon on our own. This trip is well worth it and Mie was an excellent guide.
Ms. Kristen D. from Canada traveled on 3 Jul. 2019:
I booked this tour after an amazing Hygge and Happiness tour with the same guide the day before. It was absolutely a highlight of my trip! Jakob told us all sorts of interesting information about the places we visited and the small group made it seem like we were just being shown around by a local friend. The places we went to were truly unique and I would have never found them by myself. It was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone.
Mrs. Rebecca D. from United States of America traveled on 28 Jul. 2019:
I am so happy I booked this experience. We only had 2 days to explore Copenhagen, and we picked 3 experiences off of airbnb as our tours. This one was the best because our incredible guide was such a fantastic person. Local here for 10 years and lived his whole life in Denmark, he offered a unique perspective on Denmark, was well read, highly intelligent, and could discuss geopolitics in an open minded and thoughtful way. I feel I learned a huge amount about Denmark’s culture and Hygge. It is sad that this guide is leaving later this year for further education abroad. He would be great in this field as management teaching others to do just this with tourists. As we were the only ones on the tour, I feel we got a very personalized unique experience. He took us to experience orange wine, an exclusive antique restaurant on the bridge, and a young hip bar with nouveaux recipes which even included a tour by the owner (formerly American guy) who worked to preserve the historical importance of his building while making it a meeting place for new cuisine interpretation. Even the bartenders were fascinating! Needless to say, this was a fantastic experience, even on a cold rainy day. Book this!
Mr. Jamie K. from United States of America traveled on 15. Jul. 2019:
This tour was fun! Jam was super friendly and brought us to several great spots that I wouldn’t have found otherwise. And the drinks were quite tasty 🙂
Mr. Ari H. from Japan traveled on 28 Jun. 2019:
I had a great time exploring the drinking culture of Copenhagen with Mie. Had some natural wine which I had not had before, which was very good and we finish our tour in a cool cocktail bar. Overall I would recommend anyone who likes hanging out and having a great time this tour.
Ms. Milana from the United Kingdom traveled on 22 Jun. 2019:
This was an amazing experience! It was very well thought out tour that covered some major landmarks and a bunch of hidden jams. Our host was wonderful! He was warm, welcoming, and deeply knowledgeable. Thanks to him we got a really good sense of the city and were able to enjoy the city to the fullest once we were experiencing it on our own. He even emailed us a list of his favorite spots and researched for us how we could watch the series finale of our favorite show. I would highly recommend this tour!
Ms. Émilie B. from France traveled on 16 Jun. 2019:
I really enjoyed my experience with Jam. He was very passionate about his subject and I felt like we had a good connexion. He brought me to some hidden gems of Copenhagen that my Danish friend had never heard of! I highly recommend this experience as it really made my stay fun and unique.
Ms. Joanna B. from United States of America traveled on 8 Jun. 2019:
Mie was a most excellent & accommodating host who provided colorful insight to the city, culture & history. And happily answered my numerous follow up questions while expertly guiding us on our adventure. Definitely recommend if you love food, drink & conversation.
Ms. Dorothea K. from Singapore traveled on 1 Jun. 2019:
Was nice to walk thourgh the city with a local in a small group. Continued to explore the city with a girl I met on this tour. Had good vibes with the ppl.
Mrs. Chelsea S. from Australia traveled on 24 May. 2019:
Great cocktail tour that takes you to places you would never have found on your own. The guide was well-informed and made for a fun experience that made Copenhagen all the more memorable. I would recommend this tour for any visitor–it will teach you so much about the history of the city, the food scene and of course, the cocktails and wines.
Ms. Heloise from the United Kingdom traveled on 14 May. 2019:
Had an amazing time on this tour. I travel for work and there is nothing worse than being stuck alone in a city you don’t know on a Friday night. This tour was the perfect way to experience Copenhagen without having to think about it. Jam was a fantastic host and quickly made me and the other two guests feel like we were all old friends. He was very knowledgeable about the city, the country, the culture, etc. The places we visited were great and I definitely would have never thought to go there if I had not been shown. Jam also took us to another bar after the tour ended which was great. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is a bit of a foodie or drinks enthusiast.
Mrs. Lesley W. from United States of America traveled on 29 Apr. 2019:
This was a highlight of our Copenhagen trip. He knew ‘all the right people at all the right places ‘ to quote a country song and these folks he obviously knew all came to chat with us and open up about their places and their own experiences and reasons for doing what they do. Trishy and I are still talking about this tour a few weeks later . Go do this and try the mushroom cocktail with the grated deer heart zest if it’s still on the tour ! Money so well spent.
Ms. Bailey T. from United States of America traveled on 22 Apr. 2019:
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in Copenhagen – particularly anyone looking for hidden gems and good drinks. The tour exceeded my expectations – Jam had so much knowledge to share, the snacks and drinks where phenomenal, and we went to places I never would have found on my own. The time flew by, and our group all stayed at the last spot for an extra drink because they were so good and we weren’t ready to be done yet. I wish I had done this earlier in my stay to take advantage of Jam’s recommendations, but he even had some for my next stop, which I’m excited to try!
Mrs. Anna K. from Germany traveled on 8 Apr. 2019:
This is a MUST experience for your first day in Copenhagen!!! Super informative, great fun, incredibly dynamic and passionate host – not to mention fantastic food and drink. Worth every penny and more. Jam went well above the call of duty leaving us with many recommendations for how to spend our remaining days in Copenhagen. DO IT!
Ms. Allison S. from Canada traveled on 23 Mar. 2019:
I had the pleasure of taking this tour on my first night in Copenhagen. Our guide was friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. He clearly had great relationships with the staff at each location who went out of their way to make the experience even better. This tour is a great way to get the lay of the land if you’re new to Copenhagen, see the sights with added background information, and an introduction to some really wonderful bars/restaurants you might not otherwise encounter. I’m glad I did it, and definitely recommend it!
Mrs. Shivani K. from United States of America traveled on 9 Mar. 2019:
Worth every single penny! Jamshed is amazing and every aspect of the tour is thoughtfully put together to maximize the hygge that Copenhagen has to offer. You see beautiful sights, eat phenomenal food, drink really cool drinks and learn so much about Copenhagen while still going off the beaten path. For anyone thinking of doing the tour, do not hesitate at all you will have a great time!
Ms. Meredith S. from United States of America traveled on 3 Mar. 2019:
Such a great experience! Søren was so nice and dealt with 3 boisterous girls very well on this experience. It felt like visiting a very knowledgeable friend in their hometown. The view from Christiansborg palace is something I’ll never forget.
Ms. Christine K. from Australia traveled on 14 Feb. 2019:
Mie and Mie were both fantastic hosts. They both had unique stories to tell about the city that I would never have known otherwise. I appreciate that it was a very authentic and non-traditional/tourist trip around Copenhagen. I feel like I really got a feel of the culture and life of the city. I am very glad that I chose this tour to start my experience in Copenhagen.
Mrs. Candice M. from France traveled on 3 Feb. 2019:
Great experience! Some of the best wine I’ve ever had. It may seem expensive but you really get a good amount of drinks, food, culture, venues, and views for the price. The small group experience really added to the vibe. As a solo traveler, this is a great tour to do on your first night in Copenhagen!
Mr. Mo D. from Hong Kong traveled on 14 Dec. 2018:
I booked this experience last minute during a short layover in CPH. I’ve been to CPH before but I’ve never experienced it as I did with Soren. He is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the city and beside touring the city and it’s hidden gems, we had great conversations on architecture, culture and politics. Soren is one of the best city guides I have come across and highly recommend him.
Mr. Zulian K. from Singapore traveled on 30 Nov. 2018:
This is definitely a must-do if you’ve got a free night in Copenhagen. Søren is a fantastic host and you never feel like he’s forcing anything (though the booze certainly helps). He also provides great recommendations depending on what you’re looking for so definitely pick his brain!
Ms. Casey L. from United States of America traveled on 17 Nov. 2018:
This tour was awesome. It was well worth the price. The food and drink was exquisite and the company and sights were incredible–it was a wonderful way to see the city and spend an evening with fellow travelers and new friends! Would highly recommend to anyone up for a little walking and wonderful conversation!
Ms. Caitlin K from USA traveled on 19 Oct. 2018:
I ended up being the only one that signed up for the tour for the day I went. Had an amazing time. Perfect way to see Copenhagen with a local. Soren was a great guide and very informational. Took me to amazing spots around the city.
Ms. Ahrheum from The Republic of Southern Korea traveled on 16 Oct. 2018:
If you go to Copenhagen, I recommend this as the first thing: tour with Mie!! Super fun and thoughtful guide, who show you hidden places of Copenhagen. Good drinks and local foods are enjoyable. Her storytelling is just great. I didn’t only get a good guide, I also met an amazing friend who love what she does and who is a true local.
Mr. Michael K. from the United Kingdom traveled on 7 Oct. 2018:
Mie is a warm, funny, and very knowledgeable person. The group walked through classic as well as hard to reach views of the city, sampled delicious wines, local cheeses and types of bread. Mie’s tour is the best way to feel at home, meet locals and make new friends.
Ms. Illenya S. from Greece traveled on 2 Oct. 2018:
Mie was an amazing guide! I definitely recommend this tour! We got to experience what it’s like to go local in some of the best and most breathtaking spots of Copenhagen!
Ms. Alika K. from USA traveled on 25 Aug. 2018:
An excellent conclusion to my first visit to Copenhagen! Mie has curated a lovely tour of the city combining great sights and interesting drinks. It felt nice to be walking around more like a group of friends as opposed to the traditional tour group. I would suggest taking this tour at the beginning, or middle of your stay so that you have time to revisit some of the stops – especially the cocktail bar!
Mr. Joseph A. from Canada traveled on 15 Aug. 2018:
Such a fun and fantastic intimate tour around all the great hotspots of Copenhagen. Each location so unique in look, feel, and taste. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to discover Copenhagen and its fantastic drinking scene. Mie was so kind and very welcoming. A great experience you shouldn’t miss.
Ms. Katie J. from Canada traveled on 12 Jul 2018:
Had a wonderful time with Søren. Great conversation and company for a solo traveler. The drinks and nibbles were high quality and generous. Søren pointed some of the important tourist sites but also pointed out some off the beaten path sites. Also gave recommendations and advice for sightseeing. We went to 3 exceptional and different venues. The last was truly special as the owner of a famous cocktail bar gave us a tour of his historical venue. It showed us that people who move to Copenhagen are passionate about their adopted city. 100% recommended and worth it!
Ms. Charlotte S. from the United Kingdom traveled on 2 Jul 2018:
This tour was marvellous! Huge commendations to Mie for showing us some beautiful gems in Copenhagen that we would have never found otherwise. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re a foodie and are looking to expand your food horizons and explore the city in the process (and take in some amazing views). Thanks again Mie, we had a blast and I would love to do it all over again.
Ms. Lee-Anne K. from Canada traveled on 29 Jun 2018:
Mie took us on a true “local” experience of Copenhagen. We walked, we drank, we ate. She has intense knowledge of the city’s history but really let us guide the conversation. Rather than being a historical tour, she really provided insight into what it’s like to really live in Copenhagen (no question that we had was too dumb: why do you pickle so many things? what’s it like paying such high taxes? Is marriage still a thing here? etc etc). The places she took us were all very unique and local: drinking orange wine by the canal, apple wine with an incredible unique view, and ending with alcoholic milkshakes at a local cocktail bar (which was not your traditional speakeasy). All in all a really nice time and as a solo traveler was really just like hanging out with friends (or at least ‘friends of friends :). Definitely recommend!
Ms. Luka H. from China traveled on 23 Jun 2018:
It was one of my favorite experience ever. The whole 4 hours is really worth it and Mie really get it all planned. You can enjoy the VIP spot for great view and you get to feel a local danish bar atmosphere. It was sooooo nice and if I ever come to Copenhagen again I will definitely do the experience again!!! Highly recommend.
Ms. Emma E. from USA traveled on 21 Jun 2018:
Mie created a lovely experience that takes you to multiple Copenhagen gems you wouldn’t discover on your own! She is very knowledgeable on the city of Copenhagen, as well as on the great spots to grab a drink or bite to eat. I definitely recommend this experience as a way to learn more about the city and find the spots the locals enjoy instead of simply just the tourist traps all other sites recommend. We really enjoyed the evening!
